Thanks to an emphatic win in his first ever X Games USA appearance this year, Cam Sinclair has been nominated for the TransWorld Motocross Magazine ‘Breakout FMXer of the Year’ Award.
An invite-only event will house professional motocross riders and members of the motocross industry to celebrate this year’s top motocross athletes and honor the many accomplishments they’ve achieved throughout the year. It will be held on October 7, 2010, at The Grove of Anaheim in Southern California, USA. “To be nominated for this award is fantastic. I have worked really hard this year and especially towards winning at X Games; to be considered among such amazing riders is the icing on the cake!” Cam Sinclair said.
The TransWorld Motocross Awards are chosen and voted on by a panel including TransWorld Motocross editors and members of the AFMXA board. In addition to five major athlete awards, there will be a Readers’ Choice Award, voted on by the readers of TransWorld Motocross, a Rockstar Energy Drink Lifetime Achievement Award, and the TransWorld Motocross Legend Award. The book ‘Parenting Freak Ability’ looks at Motocross Superstar, Cam Sinclair. And, the fact that he nearly died last year, and came back to win Gold at the X Games, 2010. Also, it looks at how Brad Smith has pioneered Mini Superbikes in Australia.

Cam frothing over his trophies as a child.
Here is an excerpt of the book with Cams dad, Ken Sinclair, telling the story of Cam growing up:
“One time we had just built a new feature, a 100ft tabletop. Afterwards I was inside and heard him riding the track. You get used to the pattern of gear changes and you know how fast they should be going on each part of the track. Coming out of one of the corners I heard him kick it into third gear when it should have been in second. I though “Bloody hell, he’s going to do it!” and looked out the window just as he hit the triple (series of jumps) and I could see the tree tops in the back ground. He landed it. He just couldn’t help himself he had to do it. Just as an indication of the jump’s difficulty, when the Super Cross Circus was in town they would often come and train on our track. One of the Pro 250 riders refused to do the triple that Cam was doing everyday on his 125cc and he was 15.”
