i met bronte at the mini sx a few years ago and he was one of the nicest guys going round.
even though i was a little kid with hands full of posters he still stopped and had a quick chat with me. it really made my day.

bronte you will be sorely missed.

    you are a legend.

  15. I was in the Farmers Arms Hotel in Nhill a few years ago, there was a band on and it was packed to the roof and loud as, I was standing at the bar when suddenly over al this insane noise I heard “MERV” and looked over at Bronte striding towards me, “Merv ive done a backflip” check it out (The look on his face was one that only a parent on christmas morning could recognise) he showed me the footage on his phone, it was so insaine , I screamed for him and gave him a look that he must of recognised, he said to me “yea you could do it Merv”.
I was so saddened when I first heard of his paralysing crash, this soon turned to hope with Bronte’s tough, hard working, confident attitude towards life, the way he faught back against the odds & to be able to move with a walking frame was nothing but pure guts and heart , the same as which he showed on the track.
I was so proud to know Bronte, and when he was doing commentary at races that we were racing at it made me feel so good to hear him call out my sons name and proudly say “Ive known this kid since he was born”
Gunna, Sue & Grady would be the most supportive and beautifull family that I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. there support for Bronte since day dot has been 2nd to none, both at the races and at home, I am so sorry for them right now cos no one should have to bury there darling child or brother , I gave my son an extra big hug before bed tonight.
Myself, Kim and Jacob are feeling so much pain for you guys , and you know were not far if you need us God Bless & lots of love the Williams Fam xoxox

  16. jarryd says:

man i never met u in person bust sent you an email asking for tips with the back flip. i am 14 years old i don’t have a foam pit. he said try it on a bmx into water then on bmx to dirt then on moto and what ever you do commit 100 percent and don’t let the fucking bike go when i read this email i was so surprised that he replied i was honored i will never forget you.

if it gives any one any comfort he is probably riding in heaven on the best tracks back flipping everything side by side with Jono and Lusk and every other moto rider having the best time all day everyday with no restrictions.

    hes not alone.

    love jarryd.

  37. The Salts says:

It still doesnt seem real.. you were a guy with a lot of guts and determination, you never once gave up for what you believed in.. You accomplished anything and everything you set ur mind too!! 21 years is so short for someone like you but you lived everyday to the max, never once looking back..
You gave 110% to everything you did, mx, ur family, ur friends and even getting back on those feet..
You never realised how much of an insperation you were to people of all ages.. Whether it was for racing or your courage, everyone looked up to u in a way.. Most of all Grads.
You were a hero, an inspiration to many, and it was always a massive piss up when u came bak home, and by morning something had always happened and someone always got in the shit for it, whether it was the fights or been kicked out of the pub and also been banned, haha..
Everytime we went round home to the K town house, a few of us wood go have a drink with sue, and for the next 2 – 3 hours we heard and caught up on everything you and Grads had been up to, from the flights, racing, commentating, everything, the funny times and the getting into trouble times..
Friday at the funeral, sitting there listening to all those stories the boys had told, i dont think there was not one person that didnt laugh, it was funny becoz it was always something u wood do, u never once changed, and if u did it was only for the better..
You loved a challenge, and always set goals to push urself that bit further.
You and my bro used to get up to so much shit, at school and at home, the back shed, on top of the shed, even now, i have never seen as many porn mags as i did on top of that shed roof..
Watching you race was just amazing, you are a fantastic rider and i know up there you will still be showing everyone how great u are..
You were a friend to so many, and most of them called u a brother, i still get asked, so how many brothers did Bronte actually have?
Your memories are always going to be held within our hearts, laughing at the things u used to do.. U always put a smile on everyones face, and always had the time to talk to everyone…

Your free to ride now bront..

Sue, Gunna and Grads our thoughts are with u, and we will always be here for u… xx

His close mates all over, an awesome friend who cld neva be replaced!

    #711 the dream rides on……..
    RIP BRONT

    Love the Salts xx

I’ve just returned from being overseas and I am so saddened to find that Bronte has passed away. He and I shared a few laughs and an evening commentating in Gosford a year or two ago, one of hias first gigs on the mic – I think I have bits of it recorded somewhere.

Unbelieveable that Bronte could be gone. He was so exciting to watch on that bike, always one of my favourite riders, and a bloody good bloke who’d have done well with commentary as well.

To his family and friends, what a loss, you had a gem there – we all did.

    Cheers mate,

    Paul Richards
