Sincs is on his way home!!

Texas

Hi Guys,

First off, i must apologize for not updating the site for a few days. Since returning home to Australia, i’ve been extremely busy and this is the first chance i’ve had to sit down and fill you guys in.

Since the last update, Cam has made some more improvements in regards to his memory. He now has his memory back up until 2 weeks before the accident. It will be very unlikely for him to get those 2 weeks back, which is common with a head injury of this nature.

The movement on the right side of his body is very minimal but the doctors say this will come back in time, with rehab and a lot of determination. At this stage, he is still unable to walk unassisted and still struggles to do things like open a bottle of water or lift a fork to his mouth with his hand.

The weekend of X Games was another rough few days for Cam. The way “Best Trick” rolled out, Cam would have only had to land a Double Flip without any of the combo’s he’d been working on to get a medal. Bring on XG 16, 2010. Although it was heartbreaking for him not to be at X this year, the doctor that saved his life said “Although he did not win the event, he won the most important prize and that is life”.

As I type this Cam, Brooke and Monz are on their way home. Cam was released from the fantastic hospital in Madrid this afternoon, along with a Paramedic and a first class ticket, he has started his long journey home.

Once he arrives back home in Melbourne, he will be admitted to one of the leading hospitals in Melbourne and will be assessed by Melbourne’s leading surgeons. At this stage we are unsure the length of time Cam will need to stay in the hospital, but we don’t think it will be any longer than a couple of nights. When he gets the all clear and is released from the hospital here in Melbourne, Cam will be able to go home for the first time in over a month and start his rehab program.

Once again, we can not thank everyone for their help and support, it’s been very overwhelming and from everyone in our family, we thank you very much.

As soon as Cam is settled, in a few days time, we’ll have him do a video interview and put it up as an update straight from Cam himself.

Thanks,

Mick

Dear Cam, Brooke, family and Friends,
Fantastic news that you are on your way HOME!
Many have followed you for years, we have oohed and arhhhed, sucked in our breath at the many achievements you have made.
U live your life to the fullest, and have done sooooo many spectacular things that many kids (prob adults to) could ever dream of.
But you know what stands out the most to me (Simone) you are not untouchable. We have gotten to know, love you and respect you. You have always given the time of day to Coop who puts you on his IDOL pedestal… so much so that he is going to try try and dress up as you as part of his school project this week. His final piece (project) for Grade 6 is “my mate” Cameron “Sincs” Sinclair. Should be interesting!
From our family who has held on with baited breath for every update from Mick, Mark ,Brooke and Bailey (awesome job guys) We wish you the speediest recovery, With your family, mates and all that know you and your fighting spirit you will recover surrounded by love and care.. If you don’t get back on the bike, who cares “You have done it” you are our Aussie Hero.
We wish you all rest, recovery and look forward to seeing you when you are ready.
With love Simone, Wayne, David, Taylor + Cooper Penrose.

From a 56-year-old admirer, what you guys do in the air on a motorcycle is pure magic.
Motor cycles where not made to do the things you make them do, but rules are meant to be broken.
Yes, you missed X games this year, but there is always next year.
    Live your dreams.
    Get well soon.

  19. josh p says:

I wouldn’t worry about X Games. I know you could have won it, but your life and ability to do the simple things are way more important. I love to watch all of the crazy things people can do on their bikes. I have been riding since I was 2 years old, (JR 50 with training wheels). I’m 29 now. I love to ride, so don’t get me wrong, but I have been having a hard time watching some of the best guys wreck their bodies, and losing their lives. I was at the Dew tour in Louisville and was right in front of Twitch when he smacked the ground like a rag doll. It was my first time ever watching freestyle at that level in person. I was blown away by the riders and the course. Mike Metzger even signed my hat. I have followed the sport for years and have every video made, stacks of Transworlds, MX Machine, and other magazines. A fan gets to the point where he feels that he knows the riders, almost like they are their friends, and when something bad happens it hits hard. While I was watching I felt like maybe the sport has gotten a little to crazy. I wanted to see the wild tricks, but I wanted to see everyone walk out in good health even more. Jeremy Lusk was a huge blow! I don’t even need to go into that. I have been watching you for a while and your double backflips and nuts. You have taken it to another level. I don’t want to be discouraging, I just worry about seeing everyone have fun and walking away at the end of the day. Dirt bike riders are a strange breed though. They blow caution to the wind and do things unimaginable. They live in the moment and breathe to ride. When I have had some of my worst wrecks I am always worried about the bike more than myself. I’m so glad your alive and on your way to a recovery. If you decide to go to X Games 2010 I have no doubt you will take best trick! You’ll be just fine. A lot of people have your back!
