Hey guys!

Last weekend we did a demo at the Southern 80 Waterski Race. It was myself, Jacko Strong and Bilko. I always love riding this event. Its always a good time and some of our close mates are Ski Racers, so its awesome getting to watch them do their thing in between shows.

Freestyle Motocross (FMX) champion Cam Sinclair’s documentary titled ‘TWICE – THE CAM SINCLAIR STORY,’ will be premiered at the Astor Theatre, in St Kilda, Melbourne on December 13.

The project has been a constant work in progress for Sinclair since 2008, however the whole landscape of the film changed, when he suffered his life threatening accident in Madrid, Spain, in 2009.

An amazing story of determination and true love for his sport, ‘TWICE’ offers an incite into Cam’s career and life influences, as well as showing never seen before footage of his incredible comeback, to win the X Games, almost exactly a year after almost losing his life.

The global premiere of ‘TWICE – THE CAM SINCLAIR STORY’ will be open to the public, with the 1000 seat venue expected to fill with fans and followers of Sinclair having the rare opportunity to meet Sinclair personally.

The function kicks off at 6:30 pm. Tickets are available at the door, so arrive early to reserve your seat.

SINCS SUFFERS BROKEN LEG IN VEGAS CRASH

Freestyle Motocross (FMX) rider Cam Sinclair has suffered a severely broken right leg, in a gruesome accident in Las Vegas, USA, yesterday.

Sinclair was competing in the inaugural Monster Energy Cup FMX ‘Best Trick’ contest, where competitors would have one chance at winning a $40,000 US prize purse. The 27 year old from Pearcedale, in Victoria, Australia turned sideways mid air, fearing he was going to ‘under rotate’ his signature double backflip and landed heavily on his right side; snapping his ‘Femur’ bone instantly.

“The run up was quite loose and sandy compared to what I’m used to and when I left the ramp, I just didn’t feel like I was rotating quick enough- I thought about my crash in Madrid in 2009 and thought my best option was to turn sideways to get out of it. I knew my leg was broken straight away.” Sinclair said

Event doctors were on hand to treat the current X Games Silver medalist and local surgeons inserted a rod into his leg in the early hours of this morning. They also had to contend with considerable blood loss, caused from bleeding within his injured thigh; He will receive physiotherapy treatment tomorrow, where his travel plans back to his home city of Melbourne, will be finalized.

“I’m really lucky I had good doctors and surgeons able to get me fixed up so quickly. The pain isn’t too bad at this stage, so I’m hoping to be able to fly home within the next week to rest up.

Fellow Aussies Cameron Sinclair and Robbie Maddison both have what it takes to win Best Trick gold at X Games 17. Maddison is rumored to be eyeing a double Volt, while Sinclair is planning a double backflip combo. Crazy kids indeed.

Cameron Sinclair, 27, isn’t keeping his X Games Best Trick plans a secret. In 2010, the Aussie used a double backflip to win gold in his first X Games appearance, and he hopes to up the ante in 2011.

“My plan is to do a one-handed double backflip on the first jump to see what that score will be,” Sinclair says, “and if it’s not enough for gold, I’ll do a no-handed double backflip or possibly a one-handed to Nac-Nac double flip.” (Riders get two jumps in Best Trick.) A double-backflip variation never has been landed before.

While Travis Pastrana was the first to land a double backflip, earning X Games Best Trick gold with it in 2006, Sinclair’s name seems to be most synonymous with the difficult stunt these days. He landed the first double backflip in a freestyle comp (Red Bull X-Fighters Texas, June 2009) and has attempted the trick 53 times total to dirt or resi, crashing on only four (as of June 21, 2011). It’s fitting, then, that Sinclair and Pastrana threw and landed simultaneous double backflips at the Nitro Circus Live show on June 4 in Las Vegas.

Along with Travis Pastrana, X Games 16 Best Trick gold medalist Cameron Sinclair has the double backflip down so pat that the two pulled the trick simultaneously side-by-side at the Nitro Circus Live show in Las Vegas.

The double backflip may be the most dangerous trick in freestyle. In July 2009 at the Red Bull X-Fighters in Madrid, Sinclair under-rotated, suffering a horrific crash which put him in a coma with life-threatening injuries that included a lacerated liver, internal bleeding, brain bleeding and bruising, a broken left shoulder, a fractured cheekbone and damaged wind pipe.

Doctors agreed then they would be happy if Sinclair walked again, never mind ride a bike. They underestimated Sinclair’s determination. A year later, the bullheaded Aussie was doing more than riding his bike — he was netting Best Trick gold, an incredible comeback.

Sinclair still suffers the effects of his near-fatal Madrid crash. “I have problems, but I’ve gotten used to them,” he says. “Everyone else notices the difference, like my speech is still slow and my balance isn’t 100 percent yet. I just try to ride my bike all the time and practice.”

Outside of freestyle motocross, 2011 was a big year for Sincs: He married Brooke Abegg on Jan. 7 in Melbourne, Australia. “She travels with me to all the events,” Cameron says of his new wife. “I have her in my contract, just in case I crash. Every since I started doing the double backflip, I’ve wanted her to be there with me.”
